America - the land of lost opportunities

At one time the land was grand! Have we lost that now?

I read an guest post on a site that I read almost daily, Rick Ackermans "Rick's Picks". Rick is an observant fellow, not afraid to let others post their thoughts, and this one was a doozey. The fellow that wrote the article is a long time trader in the options market, and feels that Americans are not cynical enough. You are reading a blog from one cynical guy!

What he lays out is the select enforcement of laws in the U.S. Not surprising to me, as I realized that about 4 years ago. He was way ahead of me in seeing it 20 years ago. He really became in tune with those thoughts when he started reading Catherine Austin Fits' blog, "The Solari Report" about 5 years ago.

The basic gist of both Catherine's site and the guest blogger is that this situation we are in at present in the U.S. is a calculated, allowed and inspired plan by a few select people in the U.S. Now, I am not a conspiracy nut, nor do I tread lightly on what I think is the best formed government in the world. The actions by the government and the conglomerates over the past years, and by others accounts decades, is totally corrupt and against the future well being of the citizens of the U.S.

Both talk of a "tapeworm" within the system, which makes the host ( The citizens of the U.S.) crave items, greed, toys that numb reality and immorality to feed the tape worm. If the host is happy with the consumption of the intake, then the tapeworm wins, and the host looses.

For example:

1) Over extension of credit, which is bad for the consumer, good for the banks and credit card companies.

2) Buying unneeded items - the Iphone, sony play stations, etc that allows one to escape reality in the wireless world.

3) Drugs, a loosing war that has been going on for decades - both financed and fought against by the government.

4) Immorality of relationships, marriage and leadership in all walks of life - church, government and business

All induced by the covert powers within the government and business. A conspiracy- I do not know how they could conspire in a meeting hall, a group, or whatever. It is run by whom or by what, I do not know.

All the banks that have bought brokerage houses (Wachovia, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America) are all doing insider trading and front running their customers. With government acceptance of the practice.

Over extension of risk by the banks , brokerage houses, insurance companies - financed largely by the government and hedge funds.

From leaving the political landscape of politics , to the boardrooms of corporate America, our representatives rotate between the two. Look it up, and you will be surprised (unless you are really on top of this!) at how many senators, congressmen and other Secretaries of different agencies do the switch back and forth for many a year. All with the statement of service to the people. Yeah, about that, as that individual is accumulating millions at the expense of the population.

I truly see a robbery of the wealth of the middle class. We are going down a slope that will make us in the U.S. (if it has not happened already) a two class system - those that have, and those that do not have. Those that do have are not going to let the system go a route that will take their wealth, it will be the middle class that pays the price for the new programs that are being put into place to control us as citizens. The middle class will loose any hope of wealth accumulation.

What to do?

I dropped out, left the U.S.A., and am presently in Central America.

I know of others that are trying to work within the system - for example - the Tea Party.

Others are just trying to make enough money to be in the wealth class vs. the middle class.

The answer - I do not know. This I do understand, if you are trying to change the system, it will be a long haul. I am with holding my support for the present policies by not participating - withholding my small amount of taxes that support this system. I am doing a "John Galt", if you will. I believe the best avenue of approach is to let the "tapeworm" feed only on itself, allow it to see how well it performs without the support of the host - You and me! If the system looses the ones the get over extended, buy things they really do not need, and face reality vs getting lost in games or applications, it surely will collapse and revert back to a better following of the Constitution

Differing opinions and comments are welcome.

Cheers for now.

The plan of the rich and powerful is simple and is called greed. The too big to fail are baild out at the expence of the ones that are too small to matter and there is no turning back; things will get from bad to worse while politicians will come up with more lies and "better" plans so the brainwashing could go on.

You found the only solution and I will also be leaving the sinking ship as soon as I can letting the Don Quisciottes of the lost opportunities to fight the "Best system in the World" and come out empty handed

Petra calls rich and powerful greedy, Why if one has money are they demonized by the left? .....we never hear the left demonize Gore, Maher, Edwards etc. For all you lefties you will find Gore made his money from OIL STOCKS! you bunch of hypocrites!.........anyway without the rich we have nothing but poor! ...Nothing but poor makes us a third world country doesn't it? ........well doesn't it?

American Romance,

You can be as biased as your conscience allows Sir, but before you imply anything about me, please read my comment again. TWICE!!!

I said nothing about the rich and powerful being Republicans or Democrats so your examples are out of place and reflect your opinions NOT mine. Greedy career politicians belong to both parties and their only “civic duty” is to enrich themselves and their peers while calling themselves “public servants”.

For your information, the Fair Housing Act was signed by President Johnson in 1968 and in 2003 Bush only signed a proclamation reinforcing it

Greed is killing this country. We are indoctrinated from the time we are old enough to think that we "need" so many things we don't need. We are indoctrinated by the very people you defend, the large corporations and the financial industry. Who else benefits from our uber-consumerism? No one. It always amazes me that the tea-partiers refuse to see that the very institutions they defend are the ones who don't give a damn about them, except for taking their money and twisting their minds. Am I wrong because I refuse to be twisted by corporate entities that have nothing in mind than increasing their wealth at the cost of our physical and financial health and wellbeing? The "sheeple" of this country need to be waked up. I see so much corruption on both sides of the aisle in politics. The political system is broken, and until it is fixed, nothing will get better. The best we can do is to try and make our little corner of the world the best it can be. If enough people reject corporate philosophy and products, we will be fine. Most people are too lazy to do so, however.

Amie,

Maybe you miss construed.

The politics of America is what is screwed up.

Free enterprise is by itself a great thing. One cannot blame the free enterprise for the woes of the U.S.

Free enterprise keeps the government OUT of business dealings.

The government is the most inefficient form of the market place ever!!

It is the old saying, "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely"

Level playing field in all areas is a great thing.

Cheers

John
